Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the data come from?
All data is sourced directly from official DNO open data portals. We aggregate data from NGED, UKPN, NPG, SPEN, ENW, and SSEN under their respective open data licenses (OGL v3.0, CC BY 4.0).
How often is the data updated?
We sync with DNO data sources regularly. Most DNOs update their capacity data quarterly or when network conditions change. The data on our platform reflects the latest available from each DNO.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account page. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer team or enterprise plans?
Not yet, but we're working on it! Contact us at support@griddata.uk if you need team licensing or custom data solutions.
Why is some data missing for certain substations?
Data availability depends on what each DNO publishes. Some DNOs provide more comprehensive data than others, and not all substations have complete records. We display everything available from official DNO sources - if data is missing, it's because the DNO hasn't published it. We continuously work to incorporate new data as DNOs release it.
Which data fields are available for each DNO?
NGED: Headroom, fault levels, firm capacity, RAG status
UKPN: Headroom, fault levels, capacity data
NPG: Heatmap data, busbar info, some fault levels
SPEN: Fault levels, DG heatmap data
ENW: Headroom data for primary substations
SSEN: Substation locations, LTDS data
Coverage improves as DNOs release more open data. Last updated: January 2026.
